IGFOA2012 Summer Meeting

The theme for the 106th Annual Conference of the GFOA was "Winds of Change: Public Finance in Transition." Several components of these ‘Winds of Change’ affect staff in insular area finance offices—-greater accountability and transparency, stress on performance management and improvement, new GASB standards and requirements and their application in government finance, and increased fiscal austerity and the impacts it has on staff and operations. The summer 2012 IGFOA conference focused on these "Winds of Change" and their effects on the government finance offices.

The Performeter

The most recent Performeter Reports, based on the FY10 Financial Statements, are now avaialble for the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of Palau, American Samoa, Guam, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands. In addition, the 2009 US Virgin Islands' Performter is also now available.

What is PITI-VITI?

The Pacific and Virgin Islands Training Initiatives (PITI-VITI), is a program managed by the Graduate School USA and funded by the Department of the Interior's Office of Insular Affairs. PITI-VITI supports the insular governments of American Samoa, Guam, CNMI, FSM, Palau, the Marshall Islands, and the US Virgin Islands. 2013 IGFOA Conference

The Winter IGFOA Conference will be held in Hawaii, in early December. Additional information will be made available soon.

2013 APIPA Conference

The next annual APIPA Conference will be held in Saipan, CNMI, from September 16-20, 2013. www.apipa2013.org

ELDP: Applications and Info

The Executive Leadership Development Program will begin accepting applications in early 2014 for the Class of 2015.

2013 GFOA Conference

The 2012 GFOA Conference will be held from June 2-6, 2013, in San Francisco, California.
