The Graduate School USA and the Pacific and Virgin Islands Training Initiatives (PITI-VITI) is committed to easy access for everyone.

PITI-VITI and pitiviti.org strives to provide an online environment that is accessible to everyone, including those with visual, hearing, cognitive and motor impairments. We're constantly working towards improving the accessibility of our website to ensure we provide equal access to all of our users.

Measures to Support Accessibility

PITI-VITI takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of our website:

During the design and development of pitiviti.org, we endeavor to follow WebAIM’s Principles of Accessible Design, and to comply with level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0).

A Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) has been completed, which evaluates the accessibility of this website and its contents according to Section 508 standards.

New documents posted to pitiviti.org are designed and tested to meet accessibility standards.

We strive to ensure that pitiviti.org follows accessibility best practices by implementing the principles of universal design. This ensures the site is flexible and adaptable to different users’ needs or preferences and is accessible through a variety of different technologies, including mobile devices or assistive technologies.

Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0

Wherever possible, pitiviti.org adheres to level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0). These guidelines outline four main principles that state that sites should be:

  • Perceivable - Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive
  • Operable - User interface components and navigation must be operable
  • Understandable - Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable
  • Robust - Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies

Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)

As part of our commitment to accessibility, we have completed a VPAT document, which evaluates the accessibility of a product according to the Section 508 Standards. Please contact us for a copy of the PITI-VITI VPAT.
